Club News July 2010 World Cup Final The club will be carrying on our World Cup activity with the final on Sunday. We will be showing the match on the big screen and serving World Cup-themed food in the back room. We will also have a table football table where our resident champions will take on all-comers. The details are as follows:

June 2010 World Cup Saturdays In honour of the World Cup the Bhoys of Croydon will be holding four World Cup Saturdays in the Club Room at the Broad Green Tavern - starting from 19 June. Both the 3pm and 7.30pm matches will be shown - and to really get into the spirit we'll be serving food that matches the countries playing. We want to open our doors not just to Celtic fans but to supporters from all countries. Admission is free but there will be a small charge of £3 for the food. The Lost Bhoys Book The guys from the Lost Bhoys website and podcasts (lostbhoys.com) who helped us out with the interviews for our anniversary programme have released a book chronicling the 2009/10 topsy-turvy season of Celtic Football Club through the eyes of the LostBhoys. The book, compiled by David Harper is now available at the price of £11.78 - All proceeds raised will go to the Good Child Foundation. AGM on Saturday Just a reminder that the club Annual General Meeting is on Saturday 5 June at 6pm in the Broad Green Tavern. Emirates Cup This pre-season Celtic will be taking part in the Emirates Cup at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium with Arsenal, AC Milan and Lyon. The tournament takes part over the weekend of 31 July/1 August. Fixtures are as follows: Saturday 31 July

group from the club attended an evening of traditional Irish music in St
Christopher's Hospice and presented them with a cheque for £1500
from our 10th anniversary do in February. We were made very welcome by Nigel and
Belinda of St Christopher’s together with all of the other staff on duty. With
an audience of 150 the music was provided by a quartet of supremely talented
musicians; Dermot Crehan on fiddle, J Eoin on guitar and vocals, Brendan McAuley
on uillean pipes, flutes, whistles and piano, and last but not least Mick Sands
on flute, whistle, bodhran and vocals. It was a great evening of entertainment
and, St Christopher’s provided a superb spread of food and wine at the

Meeting update The next meeting has been moved from Monday 10 to Sunday 9 May at 12:30 - before the Hearts game. April 2010 Next club meeting As the first Monday in May is a bank holiday the next club meeting will be on Monday 10 May in the Broad Green. AGM The club AGM for this season will be held on Saturday 5 June at 6pm in the Broad Green Tavern with a slideshow and buffet to follow. More details to be posted nearer the time. March 2010 Next Rangers tickets The club tickets for the next Rangers game after the split have been won yet again by John Breen. February 2010 Anniversary ticket update Tickets for our 10th anniversary function have now SOLD OUT and we will not be selling tickets on the door. If you have not collected your tickets yet they are still available for collection during televised games at the Broad Green, including the Aberdeen game on the day of the do (13th). January 2010 Anniversary tickets Tickets for our 10 year anniversary function on Saturday 13 February are now on sale. This month's Club Meeting has been moved to Monday 11 January instead of the first Monday of the month. As usual all members are welcome. December 2009 Kilmarnock game Just a reminder that Wednesday night's game away to Kilmarnock has been postponed due to safety concerns caused by the inclement weather in the area. The game will now be played on Wednesday 20 January with a 7:30 kick-off. Anniversary do tickets Tickets for the 10th Anniversary function on 13 February are now on sale to members. Please see any of the committee at or before the next Rangers game on 3 January to book your tickets. November 2009 Another anniversary guest Joining Frank McAvennie as Guest of Honour at our 10th Anniversary Function is another Celtic striking hero, George McCluskey. For full details on the Anniversary, please click here Anniversary Update We are delighted to announce that former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has been booked to appear as Guest of Honour at our 10th Anniversary Function on Saturday 13 February. Tickets priced £20 will be on sale soon. Anniversary Meeting With the Bhoys of Croydon 10th year Anniversary Function coming up on 13 February, plans are well underway for the big night itself. This month's committee meeting is a special meeting as we will be requiring extra assistance in the run up to the event and on the night itself. All members are welcome as usual. October 2009 Rangers tickets Congratulations to John Hutchins on winning the Members draw once again for the tickets for the Rangers game at New Year. 2 tickets on their way to John. London Half Marathon Well done to Club Members Secretary Keith Young on completing the London Half Marathon in a time of 2 hours 31 minutes. Keith has kindly offered to donate part of the sponsorship raised to the Club to help support our 10th Anniversary Function in February 2010. A very noble gesture. In total Keith has raised £1,238 for MacMillan Cancer Support for the run as well as £5 which will be given to a local charity on the event of the anniversary. Please inform any of the committee if you have a local charity which could benefit from a donation. May 2008 Remaining League Games With Celtic now 7 points clear of Rangers at the top of the SPL, the Hoops now have 2 games left in their 2007/08 campaign. First up is Hibs at home on Sunday 11th at 12:30 and this will be shown LIVE at the Broad Green. Our last game of the season is away to Dundee United on Thursday 22nd May at 7:45. Meeting Update The next Club meeting has been brought forward to Wednesday 7th May in the Clubroom at the Broad Green Tavern. April 2008 Next Club Meeting Because of the May Day Bank Holiday on 5th May, the next Committee meeting will be held on Monday 12th May in the Clubroom at the Broad Green. This will be our last meeting before the AGM at the end of the season. As usual all members are welcome. Rangers Games at home After the postponement of the Rangers Game at New Year John Hutchins will have the Club tickets for the re-scheduled fixture at Celtic Park on 16th March. The last Glasgow derby of the season will take place also at Celtic Park on Sunday 27th April. Any members wishing to go should speak to any of the committee in the Broad Green. December 2007 Huns Raffle Update The draw for the tickets for the Rangers game was made after the Falkirk game and John Hutchins is the winner of the 2 tickets for the big game on 2nd January. Looks like there is a better chance of winning the members draws this season if you are called John. Well done!! Rangers Raffle Once again we will be holding our now traditional members only draw for 2 tickets for the home game against Rangers on 2nd January. Tickets are now on sale and cost £5 each. Please speak to any of the committee for more details or to get your ticket. October 2007 Members Draw John Gates is the lucky winner of the start-of-season members draw for the DAB. Happy listening Ponytail!! May 2007 Annual General Meeting Just a reminder than the Club AGM will be held on Saturday 2nd June at 6:30pm in the Clubroom at the Broad Green Tavern. All members are welcome. Cup Final Party The season comes to an end on Saturday 26th May with the Scottish Cup Final against Dunfermline. We will of course be showing the game LIVE from Hampden Park. Kick-off is 3pm. We will then have a buffet and live music after the game. Music will come from Ard Ri who will play in the Clubroom from 7 to 10pm. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and hopefully having a great celebration. April 2007 Annual General Meeting The Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year will be held on Saturday 2nd June (the week after the Scottish Cup Final), in the Clubroom in the Broad Green Tavern. This will be your chance to have your say on how you feel the Club is being run and put forward your ideas on how the Club can move forward in Season 2007/08. We will also hold the election of Committee Officers and are accepting nominations for new Office-holders and Committee members. Our outgoing Chairman, Sylvester Rafter has tendered his resignation and will not be seeking re-election. Should you wish to nominate anyone to serve on the Committee next season please speak to Tony Byrne or any of the Committee. All members are welcome to the AGM. Draw for Rangers Tickets Tickets are now on sale for the Members Raffle for 2 tickets to the Celtic v Rangers game at Parkhead on Sunday 11th March. Tickets cost a fiver and will be on sale at all Celtic games in The Broad Green Tavern or from any committee member. The draw itself will take place after the Hibs game on 10th February. November 2006 Night at Dogs Update The night at Wimbledon Dogs in December has been postponed until the New Year. Further details will be published when available. In the meantime please speak to Mary Harper if you are interested in going along. October 2006 Marathon Update Congratulations to Keith Young on completing the Berlin Marathon in a time of just over 5 hours. Keith was running for the Motor Neurone Disease fund in memory of Jimmy Johnstone. Please see Keith if you wish to contribute or have not paid up your sponsorship fees yet. Huns Game Draw Those
of you who were renewal members that did not attend the recent Hibs game at the
club will have missed the draw. The winner was Davy McLaughlin, congratulations
to you Davy Mac, you have won two tickets to the game on 23rd
September. Davy also won the half time raffle and declared that he had not
rolled around in pig shit before attending the club!
